Homestay Services is a dedicated waiver provider offering Individualized Home Supports (IHS) — formerly Independent Living Skills (ILS) — with a focus on compassionate, community-based care. Our core services include IHS with training, 24-hour emergency assistance, and in-home respite care, with new supports like transitional services, medication management, and medical transportation coming soon.

Operating throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding areas, we deliver comprehensive Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) that empower individuals to live safely and independently.

1. What are HCBS?
Home & Community-Based Services provide care in a person’s home or community (not an institution) to support independence and daily living.

2. Who qualifies?
Elderly individuals or people with disabilities who complete an assessment through their county or tribal human services agency.

3. What services do you offer?

  • Individualized Home Supports (IHS) with/without training

  • In-home respite care

  • 24-hour emergency assistance

  • Homemaking & personal care

  • Medication assistance (and more)

4. How are services funded?
Through Minnesota waivers (CADI, BI, DD, EW) or private insurance. Your case manager can confirm eligibility.

5. How do I get started?
Request an assessment through your county case manager. Once approved, you can select HomeStay as your provider.

6. Can I choose my caregiver?
Yes — we offer male, female, and bilingual staff options.

7. What areas do you serve?
Primarily the Twin Cities and surrounding areas, with occasional service across greater Minnesota.

8. Are services available 24/7?
Yes — including overnight care and emergency response.

9. How do you ensure quality?
All staff are trained, background-checked, and certified under Minnesota DHS. We also review services regularly and welcome feedback.
